Doctor Who 13.2 Instant Reaction Post
Nov. 8th, 2021 06:55 pmJust finished watching the latest DW episode, "The One With The Sontarans" which is called "War of the Sontarans", apparently?
* Overall, I liked this one a lot more than the first.
* Plot A, the Doctor in the alt-Crimean War, was by far the best of the plot strands. Maybe not _the_ deepest or most original, but it felt very much the way Doctor Who is supposed to feel, so thumbs up.
* Plot B, Dan in Occupied Liverpool, was OK. I'm really liking Dan so far, but I don't feel like I have a great handle on his personality and reactions yet. Hope we get to know him better in the coming episodes.
* Wait, how old is Dan? How old are his parents???
* Does the intersection of Plot A and Plot B actually make any sense? Not sure, and feeling too lazy right now to try to work it out logically. Not overly bothered by it, though. Put it all down to wibbly-wobbly.
* I think they're doing a good job of making the Sontarans a credible threat again, dialing back the comedy but still keeping them just a little bit ridiculous.
* I didn't care as much for Plot C, and unfortunately that's the part that is going to carry through the whole season. Time is falling apart, OK, fine, but the eerie mystical temple thing isn't working for me the way I think it's supposed to, and the Swarm and Co. are just _annoying_.
