I watched 'Wild Blue Yonder' yesterday, but I didn't get around to writing an Instant Reaction, partly because there was Other Stuff going on, partly because I'm _still_ not 100% sure what my reaction was. So, let me just dump out the contents of my brain here and see what happens.
* The Isaac Newton sequence was cute, but just a little too silly for my taste. And the Doctor calling him 'hot' felt out-of-character. The Doctor's sexuality is one of those things that should remain shrouded in mystery, in my opinion.
* HADS!
* Nicely scary, very tense and unsettling and Moffat-y.
* Tennant and Tate are so delightful together.
* You'd think the Doctor would be a _little_ bit smarter about 'proving you're not a doppleganger' type logic problems.
* The special effects are _something_. It's not that they're not _good_, they're mostly _very_ good, but somehow they are still, _spiritually_, Doctor Who effects. The higher budget and updated technology hasn't changed the nonsense at the heart of the show.
* Oh, is _that_ what happened at the end of the Flux storyline? I was never entirely clear on the details of that one, and even the parts that I did understand didn't stick in my memory very well, apparently.
* Really enjoyed the episode almost all the way through, but the solution (that he knows _this_ Donna is the fake one because of a trivially tiny physical detail) felt a little disappointing.
* Overall, I liked it, but not as much as the previous one. There it is, I found a reaction :)
